SUSTAInABILITY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
As part of the manufacturing industry, we are acutely aware of our environmental impact and social responsibility. We are continuously striving to learn and implement changes for a more sustainable future.
Social Responsibility
Local Manufacturing
Where possible, we try to keep as much of our manufacturing and decoration local. We currently work with a SA manufacturer for many custom garments, an SA based screenprinter and utilise many Australian suppliers. Much of our decoration is completed in-house including Embroidery, Direct to Garment and Direct to Film printing using top of the range machinery.
Overseas Manufacturing
Nelson Teamwear employ high-quality, offshore manufacturing for many custom-made garments. We are committed to ensuring there is no slavery, human trafficking, or unfair wages in our supply chain by aligning ourselves with like-minded individuals and utilising ethical programs such as Sedex, one of the world’s largest audit platforms dedicated to providing transparency in global supply chains. Our production team have also visited overseas manufacturers in-person to ensure we are conducting business as responsibly and ethically as possible.
Environment
Sustainable Sportswear Range
Our sustainable sportswear range is produced using plastic waste bottles which are shredded and processed into regenerated polyester filaments through an automatic drawing and spinning process. Find out more information here.
Compostable & Recyclable Packaging
We have cut back on single use plastics significantly when it comes to packing and delivering garments. All garments and products are placed in reused cardboard boxes and are only sealed with tape where necessary. Recycled swing tags are also utilised on all custom apparel, and where garments need to be packed individually, we use fully compostable bags.
